Technical Bulletin Update: Use Rates

Users have contacted us regarding application rates. There is a range of application rates just as there is with current products such as talc, graphite, and 80/20 mixes.

We are finding with CCS/Center-fill planters that the application rate should START at one ounce per unit of seed.

• Application use rates will vary from a range of one-half to 1 ounce per unit of seed on the low side and up to 2 ounces on the high side.
• When using on the soybean seed that has newer “slick” seed coatings with CCS/Center-fill planters, the use rate could be as low as 1 ounce per 2 or 3 units of seed.
• Use rates vary due to many variables such as seed treatments, seed size, seed coatings and planting conditions.

We recommend that you adjust your own planter for your own planting conditions and use starting point as a reference. If you are experiencing what you may consider a lot of extra product in the row unit, then reduce your rate while watching your singulation rates with the planter’s monitor to balance your needs.
